What Keenie reads, where it goes, and what we keep. Last updated [date].
What Keenie reads
Only windows of Teams, Outlook, Gmail, Slack and WhatsApp, and your calendar in Teams and Outlook. It reads them through Windows accessibility, the way a screen reader does, so Windows shows a screen reader running while it does.
It looks inside a window to confirm it really is one of those apps. Anything else is skipped and nothing from it is kept.
Nothing is read until you turn it on. You can turn off any app in Settings at any time.
What Keenie hears
Calls in Teams, Zoom, Slack and Google Meet, for the apps you allow. No bot joins the meeting.
Meetings in the room only when you press record, through your laptop's microphone.
You are responsible for telling people they are being recorded and for following the law where you and they are.
What stays on your laptop
Audio. It is turned into text on your laptop and never sent anywhere.
Your conversations and transcripts, word for word, in a folder on your laptop. We don't have a copy.
What leaves your laptop
Text, so an AI model can read it and answer you. On the $24 plan and the free trial it goes through our server to GLM-5.2 via OpenRouter. With your own key it goes straight to OpenRouter or Anthropic. Those companies' own terms apply to what they receive.
Our server passes text through. It does not write it to disk or to a log.
What we keep about you
To run the trial and plans: a hash of a random install id, a hash of its token, when it started, a keyed hash of your IP address, dollars spent, number of requests, and when it was last seen. For paid plans, also your plan status, renewal dates and a hash of your licence key.
We do not keep your name, your messages or your transcripts.
The web demo
Text you paste is sent to a cloud model to be read and is not stored. We keep a keyed hash of your IP address with a count for today, to limit tries.
Payments
Lemon Squeezy handles payment as the seller of record. They hold your payment details and we never see them.
Deleting your data
Your conversations are in a folder on your laptop. Delete it and they are gone. To ask us to delete what we hold about an install, write to support@keenie.si.
